Wells Road Dental Practice, Ilkley.

We were pleased to be asked to update and refurbish this well-established dental practice in Ilkley.

The spaces were functional but out-dated, and needed a complete redesign to help the practice grow in the future.

We worked to create a new surgery and to create a much larger and more welcoming reception and waiting area. Existing walls and fittings were stripped out and a contemporary wood-effect flooring added.

We wanted to avoid a clinical look and to reference Ilkey and the Dales in the design, so used a warm green paint on the walls and soft green fabric chairs in the waiting area. Organic shaped mirrors, and photographs of the Dales add interest to the walls, and black accessories add a contemporary touch. In the reception area we designed a bespoke reception desk with oak cladding.

Yorkshire Cancer Research, Hornbeam Park, Harrogate.

We were delighted to be asked to design the Welcome Area and Cafe for Yorkshire Cancer Research’s new centre at Hornbeam Park.

This innovative new project offers rehabilitation, fitness and wellbeing for those living with cancer and the cafe was to be at the heart of this, offering a place for patients, staff and the community to meet.

Working with a design concept of ‘garden’, we sought to use biophilic design principles to create as natural and healthy an interior as possible. Housed in an industrial building, we sought to bring the calm and peace of the Yorkshire Dales into the space with the use of wood, natural fibres, preserved foliage and even a ‘green wall’made from preserved moss.

Enterprise Chambers, Lincoln’s Inn, London.

Having worked with Enterprise Chambers before in Leeds, we were excited to be asked to redesign their Chambers in Lincoln’s Inn.

Working with a listed George Gilbert Scott building with such beautiful original features, we sought to add contemporary touches whilst respecting the heritage of the building.

The design is bold with the use of a deep blue paint and diagonally patterned wallpaper. Carpet is replaced with a herringbone parquet floor and luxurious leather wool and velvet fabrics sit alongside contemporary furniture with sleek angular lines .

The Belmont Apart Hotel, Harrogate.

We were asked to design a new Apart Hotel in Harrogate. The clients had acquired an existing Bed and Breakfast in a large but rather dated Victorian house, and wanted to offer self-catering accommodation with each room being completely self-contained.

The challenge was to work with the existing building and reconfigure the spaces to allow for each room have a bathroom and a kitchen.

We designed bespoke storage furniture and kitchens for each bedroom, and worked with different concepts for the 12 rooms in terms of colour, pattern and materials.

It was important to create 12 individual rooms whilst still defining a clear brand identity for The Belmont.

The Orchard Therapy Centre, Horsforth, Leeds.

The brief was to refurbish and update this long established and busy therapy centre in Horsforth, Leeds.

The client wanted a professional and contemporary space but also one that was welcoming, comfortable and warm.

The space was reassessed, and various walls moved, to create a larger and more functional waiting room.

Working with the concept 'Growth', we wanted to create an original and unique reception area. A bespoke reception desk, made by a local craftsman from recycled wood, and a sculptural tree provide a focal point beside the contemporary and bright furniture.

Elsewhere, soft colours and textures sit alongside modern and colourful accessories and furniture.

Footloose Travel, Ilkley.

We were asked to provide a full design service for this established travel company in Ilkley, West Yorkshire.

Working with a new brand identity, the brief was to completely refurbish and refresh the shop premises, to appeal to the sophisticated and independent traveller. The shop needed to look contemporary, but with an eclectic and vintage edge.

Working to provide a design that would inspire adventure and luxury travellers alike, we used natural and inexpensive materials and handcrafted objects, and commissioned many unique and bespoke items: the scaffolding shelves for brochures; the handmade world map sign from vintage wood; the desks made by a local craftsman; the cushions displaying city maps that were individually designed and printed by us.

The result is a tailor made interior for a travel company specialising in providing  unique holidays.

Mink Hair and Beauty, Horsforth, Leeds.

A complete design service was required for this new hair and beauty business in Leeds.

This former office building was opened up on the ground floor, with the removal of internal walls. On other walls, rectangular cut-throughs give views to other areas and add to the feeling of space.

The scheme offers urban sophistication: colours are deep orange, brilliant white and grey. Brick effect wallpaper, reclaimed furniture and circular shapes give a quirky, eclectic feel and a focus on texture. Feathered lamp shades, leather furniture and fur accessories all add to the sense of luxury.
